Celebrity star Ricky Schroder has signed to direct a telefilm Hellhounds, that will air next year on Sci Fi Channel. As in famous celeb news source we could find today, from The Hollywood Reporter:

“Ricky Schroder has signed to direct Hellhounds, a telefilm that will air next year on Sci Fi Channel.
The movie, set in 500 B.C., stars Scott Elrod [pictured, right, of Men in Trees fame] as Kleitos, a Greek warrior who with his companions fights against the hellhounds of Hades to rescue his bride from the Underworld and bring her back to life. The telefilm, written by Paul A. Birkett, is said to be full of CGI and special effects.”

Celebrity superstar Ricky is going to sacrifice his Labor Day weekend to do it, schlepping all the way to Romania. Anyway after helping to define Hell itself over six seasons of Silver Spoons, fledgling movie director Ricky Schroder is taking his first-hand experience to the Sci-Fi Channel for the action epic Hellhounds

Schroder said “the project is his fifth with the Halmis, following January’s Journey to the Centre of the Earth, which aired on Ion Television. Twenty years ago, the Halmis and I collaborated on Lonesome Dove, and I am honored that our relationship has developed to the point where they trust me to direct Hellhounds.” And also it is something what can come at helpful hand for romanian new wave cinema, because probably if anyone can keep the lauded Romanian New Wave alive in these desperate, trying times, it’s probably him.
